May 19: The week ahead in Raleigh

Meetings, events and items of interest this week:

  1. City Council approved a pilot project to develop a more effective way to address unsheltered homelessness in our community.

  2. Mark your calendars-Raleigh will host an affordable housing summit on August 17 at the Convention Center. Click here for details.


    City Council meets on May 23.  Here are some of the agenda items to keep an eye on:

    The City Manager will release the proposed budget for fiscal year 2024/2025 on May 21.  Council will conduct budget workshops throughout June until the budget is approved prior to July 1, 2024.  The formal public hearing on the budget will be held on June 4 at 7:00 pm.  Those wishing to speak during the public hearing must sign up by 5:00 pm on May 31 using the following link: Public Hearings for City Council.  The budget will be released on May 21 and can be found here.  For more detail about the budget process, click here.
